[edit] Development
Everyday Shooter was developed by Jonathan Mak using Visual C++.[1] Sony "discovered Everyday Shooter at the 2007 independent Gaming Festival."[2] It was released on the PlayStation Network.[1]
[edit] Gameplay
Everyday Shooter is a twin-stick shooter similar to Robotron. The player controls a small dot that must navigate eight different levels. On each level the gameplay dynamics change and the player must figure out how to proceed. As the player interacts with the environment their actions cause music to be procedurally generated. Jonathan Mak describes the game as:
...an album of games exploring the expressive power of abstract shooters. Dissolute sounds of destruction are replaced with guitar riffs harmonizing over an all-guitar soundtrack, while modulating shapes celebrate the flowing beauty of geometry. [3]
