[edit] Purple Heart?
The article states that Carlson was given the Purple Heart for wounds received during World War I (1914-1918), but the Purple Heart was not restored until 22 February 1932. Prior to that, it had only been awarded during the American Revolutionary War. How could he get the Purple heart during the First World War? MishaPan 19:45, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Looks like it was actually Wound Chevrons which were "converted" to Purple Hearts on the restoration of that award. Should probably be re-worded to avoid the slight anachronism. David Underdown 20:23, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
