Commerce Guild President Shu Mai arrives on Felucia, where she meets with the Administress of the Commerce Guild. Shu Mai says that the Separatist Council will be under the personal care of General Grievous for the remainder of the Clone Wars, and that Grievous will soon conquer an Outer Rim world to host the Council.
Meanwhile, as Shu Mai and the Administress travel in their landspeeder to Mai's fortress, Jedi Knights Zonder and Barriss Offee hide on the side of the road, and once they spot Shu Mai, Barriss begins to contact the Republic. Zonder warns her that the forces there will detect any signals sent, but she does it regardless, claiming the importance of Shu Mai's presence being known to Jedi Council. As she begins to send out the signal, a group of B-1 battle droids approach and destroy the Jedi's transmitter, but they themselves are soon destroyed by Zonder. The two Jedi head to the Executive Landing Platform, where the nearest transmission facility is, dodging droidekas along the way. They are soon caught up in a group of battle droids however, and are arrested.
Less than an hour later, Shu Mai speaks with a hologram of General Grievous, who tells her to come to Belderone, the Separatist Council's new home. Mai informs the General of the two Jedi, but he assures her that no one in the Republic knows of their plans on Belderone. He signs off, and Shu Mai immediately contacts Nute Gunray, Viceroy of the Trade Federation. She asks if he could take her in a convoy to Belderone to ensure her safety. He pretends to know what she's talking about, and says he can't waste any time getting there. Shu Mai anxiously heads to her personal shuttle to fly to Belderone by herself.

[edit] Evasive Action: Recruitment

Shortly after the declaration of the Galactic Empire, Emperor Palpatine utilized thousands of workers to build a fortress on Byss. Byss was a dark side conduit, able to give its inhabitants great power in using the Force. Along with the power of Byss, Palpatine slowly fed on the life energy of his workers, to lengthen his own life.
Palpatine and Darth Vader brought a number of captured Agricultural Corps survivors and other Force adepts to the planet in order to train them into powerful servants. Vader was ordered to select worthy pupils, and dispose of the rest.
Vader initially selected four of the best pupils, a Jedi named Tremayne among them. The others included: Gwellib Ap-Llewff — who later became a dark side adept in service on Byss, Lanu Pasiq, and Halmere — who, like Tremayne, became a High Inquisitor.
Vader trained them personally in his palace in the Imperial City.
The main characters Drake Lo'gaan, Ekria and Zonder are all Jedi padawans that have by, some miracle not specified, managed to escape the Great Jedi Purge. They are hiding in the lower levels of Coruscant hoping to escape the notice of the Sith.
Drake is first seen gambling in the Uscru District to make some credits. However the Nalle triplets realized that he was underage and called in the stormtroopers to have him removed. Drake, afraid of being captured, made a daring escape with the help of his friends Zonder and Ekria.
Inside their small apartment the three friends had an argument about the moral wrongs of gambling and Ekria persuaded Drake to get a legitimate job.
Drake decided to join COMPNOR as they were launching a special recruitment campaign for their SAGroup. He applied under the alias "Jodd Sonta". While at the launch party Drake heard a speech by Inquisitor Tremayne. Unfortunately Tremayne sensed his presence in the Force and ordered a full background check on everyone present in at the party.
Tremayne informed Darth Vader of the presence of Jedi on Coruscant at his training session. Tremayne talked to Vader as he fought off the other three apprentices. Unfortunately Vader became angry with his lack of concentration. Tremayne immediately succeeded in disarming the other Force-users using his powerful anger.
Meanwhile Drake managed to get a job as a security guard at a space port on Coruscant. While on duty he met a beautiful girl Onnelly Praji who was boarding a transport to Byss.

Inquisitor Tremayne has just returned from an expedition to the far flung corners of the Galaxy in his quest for escaped Jedi. Lord Vader was very anxious to see the products of the search and appeared pleased when Tremayne presented him with the lightsabers of the Jedi he had killed, including Knight Niebur Boton. Tremayne proceeded to ask Vader for more funding in his attempts to hunt down more jedi. When Vader has left, Tremayne confesses his fear that Vader might find out that he has failed to capture Drake Lo'gaan and his friends.
Meanwhile in an exclusive sector of Coruscant Kodo Finn and his wife have just finished their evening meal at a restaurant and are heading home. However as they enter a pedestrian tunnel they are stopped by a gang of thieves. Kodo gives them his wallet but they are not satisfied. Suddenly from the middle of nowhere Ekria appears and uses the force to fend off the attacking thieves. With help from Drake and Zonder they succeed in chasing away the criminals.
According to Ens, the plot and characters of Prey have some crossover and references to Coruscant Nights: Jedi Twilight, as the two were developed at the same time.
