Evan Bradley Mathis (born November 1, 1981 in Homewood, Alabama) is an American football offensive lineman who currently plays for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL.
Mathis was selected in the 3rd round (79th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played four seasons on the offensive line for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. His first three years he played right tackle, before shifting to left guard as a senior. He was redshirted as a true freshman, before starting 47 consecutive games beginning in his sophomore year. He helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for the Tide to lead the Southeastern Conference in rushing yards per game in 2004. During his four years at Alabama, he was only responsible for allowing 3.5 sacks. His uncle is Bob Baumhower, who played defensive tackle for Alabama and the Miami Dolphins.
