Evacuation Day refers to the date of evacuation of the British military from American cities in the American Revolutionary War. It also refers to the evacuation of French troops from the Middle East after World War II.
At least two American cities have celebrated Evacuation Day as a local holiday:
- Evacuation Day in Boston: occurred in March 17, 1776, at 3:17 p.m., still celebrated annually as a legal holiday in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The celebration is on March 17, coinciding with St. Patrick's Day. Celebrations are notoriously spirited.
- Evacuation Day in New York: occurred on November 25, 1783, celebrated annually until World War I
