Talk:Eurovision Dance Contest 2008

That link does not show that next year the contest will be in London

[edit] Here we go again

So now there's people talking about possible participations from Vatican City and Algeria and Saudi Arabia and Canada (ok that was an exaggeration).. But PLEASE, do not write all the Active EBU members as possible participants.. I don't think the EBU would allow more than 20 countries at the competition because otherwise the show would last 3 hrs and they might have to cut down the 1-7 voting.. Plus, you shouldn't be already confirming the participation of all the 16 participants.. They might have sign a contract but they can always withdraw (Just like Poland did at the JESC 2005 despite of signing a 3 year contract) Israel already confirmed, United Kingdom will surely be in shall they host, Finland might not even need a confirmation. There are only chances that another country might join (say Cyprus) or that a country withdraws (say Switzerland). So, don't jump onto conclusions so soon.. There's still a year ahead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tony0106 (talkcontribs) 08:34, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Even Israel can not be considered confirmed participant. First, they will be reconsidering budget next year, and second, EBU may wish to keep this contest as "invitation only" as in 2007, when 16 countries were invited to take part considering their possibility to finance the event. So, unless there is 100% statement on official IBA website or Eurovil that Israel will take part - it should not be added to the list of confirmed participants. Zaqqq 12:07, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Switzerland withdraws?

How Switzerland can withdraw if all countries which participated in 2007, signed contract for two years and they must to participate this year. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.57.211.22 (talk) 10:02, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
