[edit] Redirect from Paris Stock Exchange
See my comment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Paris_Stock_Exchange. I don't think wikipedia should refer only to current states of affairs, current naming, etc. History has its place here. In an encyclopedia, when you go to USSR, they don't tell you: see Russia. This applies to historical institutions too. For this reason, I propose remove redirect from Paris Stock Exchange to Euronext Paris, but redirect from Paris Stock Exchange to Paris Bourse, which is the most widely used name of the "Bourse de Paris" in the Anglo-American literature. Eventually, the Paris Bourse entry should turn into a more hystorical entry. Typewritten 17:07, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- No further discussion so far? Maybe the merging suggestion should be dropped then. Typewritten (talk) 17:47, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Merging Paris Bourse and Euronext Paris
Latest proposal (see preceding discussion, but nobody seemed to suggest any other solution to this problem) would be: keep Euronext Paris as entry on current market services provider (now also merging with NYSE, BTW), and keep Paris Bourse as an entry devoted to the historical object. I think that the the idea that Russia shouldn't merge with USSR makes sense also in this case. Typewritten (talk) 17:58, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Nobody in favor of merging so far... Typewritten (talk) 15:42, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
