[edit] Finland
I think Finland should be rather confirmed illegal than that other. Far as I know, and I live in Finland, it's considered almost like any other drugs. House searches and so on...
[edit] Spain?
This map says it's "essentially legal" in Spain, as in the Netherlands or Switzerland; Legal issues of cannabis seems to imply that the laws against the trade, at least, are enforced. Twin Bird 06:00, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Italy
In this image Italy results as a "Marijuana- decriminalized-Country": although police is more yielding than before, in Italy there are teeenagers in jail with the charge of sell cannabis. Teenagers found just with little quantitatives (2-3 gr.).
[edit] UK
It is illegal. Although i think it was Cocain that was decrimonalised. was it? no Willy turner 15:05, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
yeah it is illegal in the uk u can be arrested for possesion
It is a class C drug in the UK, which means it is still illegal and by no means decriminalized. However, I don't think the police would worry too much about charging for possession, unless they are charging people with possession with intent to supply. (In other words, having quite a lot of it about.)
--Canabis has NOT been decriminalised in the UK. Although now a class C drug, posession and supply could result in imprisonment. Such a sentence is unlikely for posession of small quantities for which police cautions are usually issued. The map needs to be updated to avoid misleading naieve users.
i too confirm it is definateley not decriminalised in the UK. what changed was that police procedure is now to give a warning for possesion of small amounts. but you can still be arrested for smoking a joint near a school, and under other circumstances. and selling any amount is still an offence. plus the government have talked about reclassifying it again to B. the fact that on the english wikipedia the info for the uk is totally wrong casts severe doubt on the acuracy of other countries on the map. will someone change this asap please Willy turner 15:05, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ireland
Look at Northern Ireland and the bit thats next to it is blue and the rest of R of Ireland is red?
since 2004 cannabis possession in the UK is no longer an arrestable offence as the sentence for possession is not 5 years or more, hence, decriminalised. ^^Answer: At the same time as reclassifying the maximum sentence for class C was increased to 7 years or so and also the serious organised crime act IIRC provided that all offences are now arrestable. So weed is definitely not decriminalised.80.47.138.155 20:08, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
sorry, although cannabis laws are rarely enforced by law, it is still criminalised, but you wouldn't necessarily be arrested in the UK for it. I was mostly offended by the point that Germany and Russia, and most of the rest of Europe, has decriminalised cannabis according to this map. It seems far too optimistic.
[edit] Switzerland
Its illegal in switzerland, but possession of small amounts (up to about 3 grams) remain often unenforced. Someone should change this picture —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.189.164.10 (talk) 21:33, 23 April 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Malta
Cannabis is illegal but possession of small quantities (even with the intention of selling) is not a criminal offence. Marcus1234 21:08, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
