Tennis Europe (formerly known as the European Tennis Association) was formed in 1976 by a group of 17 European national tennis federations as a regional governing body for the sport of tennis and under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation. It is now the largest regional tennis federation in the world with 49 member states.
