European Nanoelectronics Initiative Advisory Council

The European Nanoelectronics Initiative Advisory Council (ENIAC) is the European Technology Platform for nanoelectronics. The most important objective of ENIAC is to reinforce the position of Europe as a leading global player in micro- and nanoelectronics. The current chairman of ENIAC is Alain Dutheil, chairman of STMicroelectronics.

Its main aims are to :
- Provide a Strategic Research Agenda for the nanoelectronics sector, with respect to R&D. The newest Strategic Research Agenda 2007 was presented at the ENIAC forum in Budapest on November 28 2007.
- Ensure the effectiveness of the ENIAC JTI, a public-private partnership.
- Stimulate public and private sector investment in R&D in the nanoelectronics sector.
- Centralise nanoelectronic R&D efforts at European Community, between governments and at national, regional and private sector levels.
- Enhance networking and clustering of Europe's R&D capacities.
- Promote Europe's commitment to R&D to stimulate research in and bring researchers to Europe.
- Advise on educational, structural and regulatory matters in the field of nanoelectronics.
