European Cross Country Championships
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The European Cross Country Championships is an annual Cross Country international race. Held in December each year and organised by European Athletics, it was inaugurated in 1994. The venue for the championships is changed each year, and will be held in Oostende, Belgium in 2008
Unlike the Worlds, the European Cross Country Championships consists of six races: one each for men and for women ; and one each for Under-23s men and women, and junior reaces for men and women. Scoring was done for individuals and for national teams. In the team competition, the finishing positions of the top six scorers from a team of up to nine are summed for the men and women, respectively, and the low score wins. For the junior races, the top three from a team of up to four are scored.
