European Association of Communication Directors

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) is a network for communication professionals from all fields across Europe. The EACD aims to establish common quality standards and advance professional qualification within the field by organising events and meetings. The non-partisan association is lobbying for the profession, offer legal advice and provide useful services and information media.

With the current White Paper the Vice President of the European Commission, Margot Wallström, has addressed the need for the professionalisation of European communication. The EACD acts on this political recommendation on behalf of the professional group of communicators from companies, associations, European institutions, the public sector and politics. It aims at the formulation of communicative norms and expectations as a declaration of a pan-European communication culture.
