Weblog-based communication platform sponsored by the European Parliament, that aims to make the activities of the European Institutions -the Parliament in particular- closer to citizens by:
- providing a free platform for Members of the European Parliament and EU institutions staff where they can host their own blogs and thus connect and interact with citizens in a more personal and direct way than that of official publications
- and by providing other interesting contents, such as news or links for citizens, selected to give them a closer view of the institutions that serve them
What's behind the idea?
Despite the amount of information available about the institutions of the European Union a large number of Citizens feel the EU is not close enough to them and their actual needs and lives.
The European Parliament aims to provide relevant information to Europeans on European Affairs and the role played by the Parliament and, therefore, has supported the idea of creating this platform to connect the real people who are part of the European institutions and the general public.
Who's behind the idea?
Europa InSitu is an editorially independent project partially funded by the European Parliament through a grant provided by its Directorate General for Information
The project's original idea was created by Spanish interactive marketing agency LogiQo and it is being developed and managed by its parent company Logixell Research Network with assistance from the European Parliament.
