From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This painting is actually of Euclid of Megara, another Greek philosopher who was not quite a contemporary of Euclid of Alexandria. The image has cropped out the inscription just under this figure which reads "EVCLIDI MEGAREN" ("Euclid Megaren" in Latin). When this painting was made, the works of Euclid of Alexandria were mistakenly attributed to Euclid of Megara.
