Many news accounts report her as such. [1] Her husband (died 1967) was "a descendant of distinguished early American families" according to his NYT obit. [2] Both were quite influential. Jokestress 03:23, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Mrs. Adolf Ladenburg, socially prominent New Yorker, died at 10:30 o'clock tonight at her country home here. With her when she died was her daughter, Mrs. Preston Davie, who hurried from Europe several weeks ago when her mother's illness became acute. NYT Aug 10, 1937 [3]
