[edit] Question about references
Per this discussion here: Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests#Eugene "Debbs" Potts. Check the revision history of the page. Unless User:Orygun is the Mr. Fain in question, which I doubt, then he was simply using what references were available to him. Unless there is a court order for him to take his webpages down, then I can't see there is a way to stop people from using the content thereon. Now, if you can introduce alternate reliable sources that back up the facts stated in the article then by all means do so. However, please do not reintroduce the material I reverted, which was inappropriate in tone for an encyclopedia. Please direct any further suggestions about changes to the article to this page. [edit] Copied from my talk page
If you give me a fax number, I will send you the court judgment papers. You may use the link http://www.pottsvilleoregon.com for reference #3. "Things" belongs to the Foundation. You may also add pottsville's web site as an external link. You are welcome to include information from our web site also. We are in the process of taking Mr Fain back to court for contempt, noit following the judgment. V Pruden —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.237.228.169 (talk) 21:42, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm really not interested in seeing the court judgement papers. I am not the central authority of Wikipedia or of this article. We will take a look at your link and see if it is appropriate. Just as a preepmtive measure, I would like you to read WP:LEGAL. (I am not saying you have made a legal threat, but this link gives you some idea about what is and isn't appropriate). If you really feel the need to get these documents to someone at Wikipedia, you will find suggestions for recourse on that page. If you feel the need to contact the Wikimedia Foundation, here is the page I think is most appropriate for your case: Wikipedia:Contact us/Article problem/Factual error (from enterprise) It says there:
In case of a substantial legal concern over article content (rather than a more general concern): please email info-en-q@wikimedia.org with "Legal concern" in the subject line, for prompt attention, including the details listed below. See also Foundation contact page. Note that legal concerns can be slower to properly resolve than general content concerns.
As I can see nothing wrong with the current reference number three, I need some help understanding your point of view. As the article currently stands, what, specifically are the problems you see with it?I did not see there was another link to the page in question. I will remove it. I can assure you this was merely an oversight on my part and that the link is being removed because it appears to not fulfill our guidelines regarding sources and not because of the legal issue, which I'm pretty sure has no bearing on whether or not we can link to that page.
