Eufrasia of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Blessed Eufrasia of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was born on October 7, 1877 in Edathuruthy, a locale in the city of Thrissur, Kerala, India. She was named Rosa Eluvathingal. She became a nun in the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel, taking the name Eufrasia of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She died on August 29, 1952 in Ollur, Thrissur, Kerala, India of natural causes.
She was declared venerable on July 5, 2002 by Pope John Paul II. She was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI on December 3, 2006.
