I just cut out this:

Of all the groups of crustaceans, the Eucarida appeared relatively late in the fossil record. They first appear in the Mesozoic era, but are presumed to have first evolved much earlier.

The fossil record of the decapods (Reptantia) is as old as the hoplocarida. Euphausiaca have no fossil record. This sentence is so strange I am not sure what to make of it so I just moved it here. --Squidonius (talk) 13:39, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
