[edit] Automated message to bot owners

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 02:38, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Coordinates

Perhaps your algorithm on the coordinates could be better. The last edit of Moordrecht has working, detailed coordinates. Afterwards its coordinates doesn't work, although it is possible. I know this isn't such a big issue because most cities haven't got so detailed coordinates, so it automatically goes well, but it would be nice if this would be fixed Cristan 15:37, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Great!

Bot, you did good jobs concerning some articles; give my complements to your boss, okay? -The Bold Guy- 12:25, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Redirect of Holarrhena antidysenterica

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Holarrhena antidysenterica, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Holarrhena antidysenterica is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Holarrhena antidysenterica, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Eubot has been changed to check if the target article exists before creating the redirect. Eugène van der Pijll 17:53, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Live at the L A Troubadour

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Live at the L A Troubadour, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Thank you

I'm sick and tired of color-changing vandals. Thank you for doing us such a great service. bibliomaniac15 18:28, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Colours

See Sawsharks, there is now no colour at all. Must be a bug. GrahamBould (talk) 17:57, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Spotted the problem - regnum = Animalia instead of | regnum = Animalia (missing pipe sign. Maybe your bot could be changed to not be too fussy about whether | is present. Just a thought. I've fixed Sawshark. GrahamBould (talk) 18:02, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
The colour for animalia is now an olive green - it used to be pink. I don't think that's right. GrahamBould (talk) 16:49, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] barnstar

The Fauna Barnstar
I award Eubot this barnstar for fixing up the taxobox colors in various animal articles.--Lenticel (talk) 11:30, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Navbox colors

Great job working on the colors - can you do viruses next? Regards—G716 <T·C> 03:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Article removed, redirected

Good initiative all these new redirects you created. BTW I fixed this edit: [1]. -- User:Docu

I found the bug that caused that error; fixed it; and corrected about five other articles affected by it. Thanks for the report. Eugène van der Pijll (talk) 10:23, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vojislav Vranjkovic

The bot wrongly redirect the player to the club he play. Matthew_hk tc 18:14, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Escaping special characters

Take a look at what this bot did to NP-hard. The equals sign in the third argument confused the template. I fixed that page by hand, but this bug (or related ones for pages containing other special characters) may have wider effects. It shouldn't be too hard to fix; you just need some sort of 'sanitize' method to convert special characters in strings to their raw values. LWizard @ 22:40, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unnecessary redirects?

I do not understand the creation of ,afi:'u:k@s and ,s@p@n'te@ri@s, both of which redirect to Ophiuchus. The first is a phonetic spelling, but under what circumstances would that be useful? I don't know what the other is. Who would type these things expecting to arrive at Ophiuchus? There may be other such pages; I am aware of these only because I accidentally typed a comma into the search bar. MagnesianPhoenix (talk) 06:00, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
