The town centre (dark green) and the statistical district (light green) of Vlagtwedde in the municipality of Vlagtwedde.

Vlagtwedde (53°2′N, 7°7′E) is a town in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is a part of the municipality of Vlagtwedde, and lies about 31 km north of Emmen.

In 2001, the town of Vlagtwedde had 1564 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.68 km2, and contained 721 residences.[1] The statistical area "Vlagtwedde", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 2220.[2]
