The town centre (dark green) and the statistical district (light green) of Muiden in the municipality of Muiden.

Muiden (52°20′N, 5°4′E) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Muiden, and lies about 9 km northwest of Bussum.

In 2001, the town of Muiden had 3167 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.56 km2, and contained 1391 residences.[1] The statistical area "Muiden", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 3130.[2]
