The town centre (dark green) and the statistical district (light green) of Leusden in the municipality of Leusden.

Leusden (52°8′N, 5°26′E) is a town in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Leusden, and lies about 5 km southeast of Amersfoort.

In 2001, the town of Leusden had 23121 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 4.4 km2, and contained 8967 residences.[1] The statistical area "Leusden", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 23490.[2]
