Talk:Etymology of Sarajevo

[edit] -ovo/-evo
"and "evo" comes from "Ovasi" ("Saray Ovasi"), giving the name the basic meaning "The field around the castle"." I doubt this quite a lot - "-ovo"/"-evo" is an extremely frequent Slavic ending indicating a settlement. There's a serious bunch of settlements ending on "-ovo"/"-evo" in every single Slavic country. I mean, why should this one be an exception? → Тодор Божинов / Todor Bozhinov → Talk 16:51, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
