ETV Network (India)

ETV Network is one of the largest networks of satellite television channels in India and is owned by the media baron Ramoji Rao. Based at Hyderabad, this network runs a group of 12 regional language news and entertainment channels.

When the satellite TV revolution broke out in India during the late 1990s, the Telugu daily newspaper Eenadu started with its own channel called ETV. Initially launching a Telugu channel the network has later diverisfied into other Indian languages such as Bengali, Urdu, Kannada, Gujarati and Marathi. With 12 channels in regional languages of India, ETV has the largest news-reporting network in India, at the grassroot level. Managed by Newstoday Private Limited, the channels give news in between entertainment programs. 4 Hindi channels for Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan, and infotainment channels in Telugu, Kannada, Bangla, Marathi, Urdu, Gujarati - and a 24-hours news channel in Telugu constitute the bunch of ETV Channels.
