I suggest that such links would be better handled by linking from this article to the copious numbers of articles on Thiomersal/controversy rather than by scattering links hither and thither. [edit] Salicylic acid is a related compound?

Could anyone explain to me, how is salicylic acid related to ethylmercury+? Well, ethylmercuric salicylate is as a thinkable salt as the other 10x ones, and yes, Thiomersal is derived from thiosalicylic acid,... but how exactly is salicylic acid related to EtHg+...?
