Ethiopian citizens may obtain passports at several different locations designated by the government. At the Ethiopian embassy in London the application fee is £30, and in Washington, it is $50.

[edit] New Developments

According to Somalia's internal affairs minister and assistant prime Minster Hussein Mohammed Farah Aideed, Somalia and Ethiopia are about to begin a joint project to develop a common passport used by both countries. The decision was made due to the fact that the majority of Somalian refugees live in Ethiopia, and most of them also carry Ethiopian passports. The two countries are also seeking to develop closer ties with each other to effectively deal with future challenges affecting the region [1].
