[edit] History

eSys was incorporated in Singapore in 2000 at the time of dotcom meltdown. Distribution of IT components was one of the hardest hit and margins were low. eSys started with one product and one one country and operated from a small office in Singapore having two employees.

Today, being a global leader in IT Components Distribution, eSys has successfully diversified into PC Manufacturing; eSys branded IT Products and Business Process and IT Services.

eSys growth and business success is attributed to competencies related to an efficient and process driven business model which transcends diverse product lines and geographies.

This was confirmed most recently when eSys was ranked No. 1 in 2005 Enterprise-50 awards, given to the most dynamic companies of Singapore by Accenture and Business Times. The Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Vikas Goel, has recently been awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2005.

Today, eSys is a USD 2 Billion transnational with 117 fully owned operations in 38 countries. With more than 1000 employees around the globe eSys has 30,000 business partners who are catering to more than 85,000 customers. eSys is among the fastest growing companies in the world across industries and, certainly, the fastest growing IT distribution company globally.

[edit] Manufacturing facilities

eSys has four PC Assembly plants with Combined annual capacity of 3 Million units. These manufacturing plants are located in Singapore, New Delhi, India, Los Angeles, USA and The Jebel Ali, UAE. eSys will also be setting up a Manufacturing Facility in Amsterdam, Netherlands in time to come.

[edit] Manufacturing techniques

eSys manufacturing facilities are integrated with its regional supply chain hubs which affords lower inventory holding costs and allows faster time to market. The plants have a high level of automation in manufacturing processes where Computer chips and software simulate humans to do most of the costly activities. To further cut costs down, eSys also heavily employs the implementation of Linux operating systems which are free instead of typically using Microsoft Windows.
