ESWAT can refer to two different but related video games developed by Sega.

  • ESWAT Cyber Police (1989), also called Cyber Police ESWAT, is an arcade action game.
  • ESWAT: City Under Siege (1990) is an action game for the Sega Genesis console, inspired by the aforementioned arcade, but featuring entirely different levels, weapons, and enemies.

ESWAT is also an acronym for Extra Special Weapons and Tactics. An offshoot of the real-life SWAT teams found in many forms of Science Fiction, particularly those of the Cyberpunk genre. ESWAT units are usually even more heavily armored and armed than their real-life counterparts and have worldwide Jurisdiction, and may utilize such fictional equipment as Powered exoskeletons and heavy machine guns when deployed.
