Asociación Atlética Estudiantes (usually known as Estudiantes de Río Cuarto) are an Argentine Football club, their home town is Río Cuarto, in the Province of Córdoba in Argentina. They currently play in Zone C of the regionalised 4th level of Argentine football Torneo Argentino B.
[edit] Nacional championships
The club have played at the highest level of Argentine football on 3 occasions, they qualified to play in the National tournaments of 1983,1984 and 1985.
In 1983 they were eliminated at the first stage failing to win a single game.
In 1984 they were eliminated at the first round stage by finishing 3rd in their group of 4 teams, they won their first game at the highest level and also managed a creditable draw against River Plate.
In 1985 the team finished 2nd in their group to qualify for the 2nd phase. During the group stage they managed a 1-1 draw with Boca Juniors although Boca avenged this with a 7-1 thrashing in the return fixture. In the 2nd phase the club were eliminated 4-2 on aggregate by San Martín de Tucumán.
