Estreito de Câmara de Lobos

Estreito de Câmara de Lobos (pron. IPA: [(ɨ)ʃ'tɾɐitu dɨ 'kɐmɐɾɐ dɨ 'lobuʃ]; Portuguese for Strait of Câmara de Lobos) is a parish in the district of and one of the few suburbs of Câmara de Lobos in the Madeira Islands. The population in 2001 is 10,283, its density is 1,257.5/km² and the area is 8.14 km². It is located above Câmara de Lobos. The main industry are business and agriculture. It is connected with a road linking Calheta and Funchal. The mountains surround Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and are to the north. Estreito de Câmara de Lobos is famous for its cultivation and production of Madeira wine.
