"Estoy Aquí" (English: I'm here) is a song written by Shakira and Luis F. Ochoa for her 1996 breakthrough album Pies Descalzos. It was her first successful worldwide single. Released in 1996, it reached a peak position of #2 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart.
The song is Shakira's flagship song in Latin America and is her most popular song in Brazil, where it spent many weeks at the top of the airplay charts.
The song serves as the opening number on Shakira's 2006-2007 Oral Fixation Tour, following the introduction "A'tini al-Nay".
There is also Portuguese version of this song, called Estou Aqui.
[edit] Music video
Two different music videos were made for the song. One was directed by Simon Brand, and was released in Latin American countries. This video shows Shakira on a farm playing her guitar and sitting in a chair singing in the winter.
The other music video was directed by Christophe Gstalder and was released in European countries. This particular video shows Shakira walking around a house (presumably hers), singing while sitting on a couch. Some frames of this version also show things burning, like her guitar.
