Marchesa/Princess Esther Kapiʻolani Kawānanakoa Marignoli dei Marchese di Montecorona born 1928 is the youngest daughter of Princess Abigail Kawananakoa Kapiʻolani Kawānanakoa born at Honolulu, Oahu during her marriage with Andrew Anderson Lambert. According to some her mother became the head of the House of Kawananakoa upon the death of her uncle Prince Edward David Kalakaua Kawananakoa on May 20, 1953 but other argued that her aunt, the Princess Helen Lydia Liliuokalani Kawananakoa, was the rightful heir and that Abigail was illegitimate issue of David Kawānanakoa.

She had an older brother, Edward A. Kawānanakoa; and an older sister, Virginia Poomaikelani Kawānanakoa, with Edward four years her senior and Virginia two years. She was the last child of her mother. Upon her mother's death on April 8, 1961, her elder brother Edward A. Kawananakoa became the most senior native Hawaiian and heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Hawai'i. Even though she didn't became head of the House of Kawānanakoa, her children would probably be possible successors if her brother's children's descendants die out. Her children are of higher alii rank than their cousins because their maternal lineage is Kawananakoa line while their cousin has to trace through their paternal line. Everyone of Hawaii's eight monarch had a high ranking mother.

She is a namesake of her great-great aunt Queen Esther Kapiolani who had been originally named after the High Chiefess Kapiolani the Great of Hilo who had defied Pele, the Volcano goddess, and embrace Christianinty. Marchesa Kapiolani Marignoli is an Honorary Advisor of the Friends of 'Iolani Palace.

She married The Noble Filippo Marignoli dei Marchese di Montecorona, sometimes known as Marchese Filippo Marignoli (1926-1995), an abstract artist who was the younger son of The Noble Don Giulio Marignoli, Marquess di Montecorona, by his wife, The Noble Donna Marinetta, Marchioness di Montecornona, the former Marinetta Trotta. Marchese Filippo Marignoli is a distant relative of the Italian Royal House of Savoy and through their union she became the Marchesa Kapiolani Marignoli. With her husband she had two children, The Noble Duccio Kaumualii Marignoli dei Marchese di Montecorona, The Noble Esmeralda Kapiolani Marignoli dei Marchese di Montecorona and The Noble Teresa Elelule Marignoli dei Marchese di Montecorona.
