From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Estates Gazette is a weekly business magazine published for the UK commercial property market. It was first published in 1858 and celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2008. This makes it the oldest magazine in Europe to have been continually published from its inception through to the present day.[citation needed]
It is read by an audience of over 120,000 people each week (GfK NOP Commercial Property Media Survey 2007) and has a paid-for circulation in excess of 29,000 as verified by the UK's Audit Bureau of Circulations.
It is currently edited by Peter Bill, who also writes a weekly column on commercial property for the London Evening Standard.
In March 2008, Estates Gazette was announced as one of the top 500 "Business Superbrands" in the UK. PPA News
In 1996, Estates Gazette launched its own online property news and research arm, EGi.
In 1997, Estates Gazette launched EGPropertyLink.com, which remains the UK's largest free-access commercial property availability search site, with over 41,000 properties listed.
Estates Gazette, EGi and EG PropertyLink are now just three services within the Estates Gazette Group, which also includes EuroProperty - a fortnightly publication for the pan-European real estate investment market - and EG Capital - a monthly title focusing on the UK property investment market.
Since 2005, Estates Gazette has run the EG Awards, celebrating excellence in the UK real estate market. This black-tie event is run out of the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, traditionally in late September. A number of other awards and conferences are run under the banner of EG Events.
It is published by Reed Business Information, who also offer a range of other services for the property market.
