Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica (Costa Rica National Stadium) was a multi-use stadium in La Sabana, San José, Costa Rica. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium held 25,000 people and was built in 1976.

The Chinese government will finance a new Stadium with a capacity of 40,000 people. Demolition began after the match between UCR (Universidad de Costa Rica) and Brujas FC and 200M event where Nery Brenes made a new national record (20:28 seconds). Now, costaricans have to wait until late 2009 to receive their new stadium concluded.

The construction of the 40,000-seat stadium forms part of the agreements signed between the presidents of Costa Rica and China, Oscar Arias and Hu Jintao, respectively, during Arias' first visit to the Asian country in October, 2007.
