Estadio La Rosaleda is a football stadium in Málaga, Spain. It was originally the home of CD Málaga and is currently the home ground of Málaga CF. In 2006 was inaugurated after its rebuilding.

  • Name: Estadio La Rosaleda
  • Inauguration: 1941
  • Rebuilding: 2006
  • Capacity: 28,963 seats
  • Pitch dimensions:
    • Length: 105m
    • Width: 68m

Rebuilding work finished this summer,(6-2006), after 5 years of works and wrangling amongst different municipal authorities and the regional government. The result is an obvious compromise between what Malaga needs and how much was there to spend on it. The stadium is almost entirely built of concrete, and exterior embellishments, part of the original plan, have not materialised as yet, factors which give the ground a brutalistic and almost soviet appearance from the outside. The end capacity, a source of speculation through-out construction has ended up being 28,963 , which is quite acceptable for most 1st division clubs, although it is sad to note on the massive public help received by football clubs in other towns (inferior to Malaga in size and importance) regarding this kind of project. Of particular interest would be the case of the Olympic Stadium in Seville, where the Junta de Andalucia (the main body of regional government) spent untold millions on a 55,000 capacity stadium that is of no particular benefit to the two great and historic clubs of this town, which have funds to have great stadiums without need from outside help.
