El Templo Mayor, in the JVC complex, will be a multi-use venue that will be used mostly for football matches and will host the home matches of Club Deportivo Guadalajara S.A de C.V., mostly known as Chivas. It will have very high quality standards. The stadium will have a capacity of 45,500 people, with a maximum capacity of 54,595. It will replace their current stadium Estadio Jalisco.

The stadium is planned to open on October of 2008. Construction officially started on February 2004.
