Estádio do Marítimo

Estádio do Marítimo is a proposedfootball stadium in Funchal, Portugal, that is still in the planning stages after receiving numerous setbacks and delays. It is hoped to be completed by 2010, it will host the home matches of C.S. Marítimo, the city's biggest and most supported club. The original stadium plans indicated it was to have a capacity of around 10,000 people, though these have now been scrapped due to a change of site. The initial plans and video (In the links below) were for a site in the Praia Formosa area of Funchal, however, after reaching agreement with the local government, the new facility will be built on the land currently occupied by the club's present home, the Estádio dos Barreiros.
