Is "island cabbage" "hearts of palm"?

Also, what is intended by bullock--beef? There is no biological difference between oxen and cattle. THB 06:12, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Island Cabbage is not related to hearts of palm. It is a green, leafy vegetable that looks, in most cases, like stunted spinach. Boiled, it quickly takes on a "slimy" texture that many find unpleasant. In parts of Papua New Guinea it is referred to as "slippery cabbage" for this reason. Rapid blanching generally cooks it without rendering it "slimy", after which it makes a good addition to stir-fried meat and other island vegetables. For those living in remote areas within Vanuatu or Papua New Guinea, it is worth persevering with, because of the high iron and other nutritional content.

I suspect the writer used "bullock" because it is the Bislama word for both live cattle and the meat butchered for cooking.--IJB 04:09, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Why was this page moved to Espiritu Santo (Island)? There doesn't seem to be another thing here named Espiritu Santo to disambiguate it from. I propose moving it back. Rigadoun (talk) 17:37, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
