[edit] Formatting, etc.
When editing articles such as Española Valley High School, please make sure the formatting conforms to Wikipedia's Manual of Style — this means no coloured headings. Also, it's not necessary to add upcoming sports events or a listing of wins/losses for every team (unless they have won a championship). Guidelines for what should and should not be included in school articles can be found at WikiProject Schools.
Have a look at other similar articles or the article Dallas Independent School District which is considered to be a good school article. ... discospinster talk 15:55, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Sparky the Sun Devil
Hi,
I think I've know the conflict behind the use of sparky the sundevil icon. On the one hand, the image is clearly copyrighted by Arizona State University. On the other hand, EVHS actually uses Sparky in an official capacity. Does EVHS have permission to do so? If they do, then I think its also fair use to post the image on wikipedia under the EVHS article. If EVHS doesn't have permission to use the image, somebody needs to tell them before ASU finds out or they will be liable for copyright infringement. --Greg Comlish (talk) 16:23, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Citations
Please work towards providing citations before you remove the unsourced tag. --Greg Comlish (talk) 16:18, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
In particular, at least the following claims should have citations:
EVHS was once known for its drop-out and drug abuse rates.
- Citation provided Greg Comlish (talk) 13:26, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Cant be found, However the student population is rising, iam a former student of EVHS
Today EVHS's reputation is improving as the attendance rate rises. - Source Added by: BradlyRM
EVHS has also raised its scores on its state assessments (AYP) - Doesnt seem to be true
Española (EVHS) was the #3 most improved school in the state of New Mexico for 2007 and most improved in the Nation (#221).

[edit] What?
"EVHS has been a AAAA school since the early 80s which has taken EVHS to win four sport related state championships and about 15 activity or individual state championships." I can't make sense of this sentence. Would someone who knows what it is trying to say clean up the grammar? Aleta Sing 20:01, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- I have changed it to what I think it should say. If it is incorrect, please change it. However, do not simply revert my edit - I had made many copyedit and MOS changes previously, and an editor reverted them without comment. Aleta Sing 13:19, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image layout
On my display the row of pictures on the right-hand side of the athletics section overlaps with the 2006-2007 sport achievements section, but I'm not quite sure how to fix it (obviously I could shrink the pictures slightly but that depends on a reader's text size). Anyone with more formatting knowledge have a suggestion? Olaf Davis | Talk 15:35, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- It overlapped for me, too. I've fixed it for my view. See if it's fixed in your display now. Aleta Sing 16:17, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] AAAA
This article mentions AAAA a number of times, but I have no idea what it means (apart from guessing that one of the As stands for athletics) and AAAA is no help. Anyone care to enlighten me / write an article on it / suggest a reference so I can do so? Olaf Davis | Talk 08:10, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- ThomasSalazar has pointed me to New Mexico Activities Association in reply, and I've linked to it on the article. Olaf Davis | Talk 08:58, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
