Espen Rian (born February 11, 1981) is a Norwegian Nordic combined skier who has competed since 2002. He won a bronze medal in the 4 x 5 km team event at the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo and finished 15th in the 7.5 km sprint event, and eight in the 15 km individual event at those same championships.

Rian has a total of three individual career victories, all in World Cup B event since 2001 (two 15 km individual and one 7.5 km sprint). His best result in World Cup A event was sixth in the 7.5 km sprint event at Lillehammer in December 2006. He also held the hill record at Lillehammer with a 145 m jump, but that was later annulled because Rian was in Nordic combined and not ski jumping. He skies for Stadsbygd IL, GST, using Fischer skis and a Uvex helmet.

Rian is 1.77 m tall, weighing 67 kg, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He spent his first years in Stadsbygd, Norway, with his parents and an older brother, later moving to Trondheim to attend sports high school at 15. Rian's hobbies include golf, tennis, football and hunting. He lives in Trondheim.
