ESP Viper

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ESP Viper is a model of electric guitar made by ESP Guitars. Like most ESP instruments, it is based on another guitar (in this case a Gibson SG), but it has a slightly different shape; a slight diagonal slope at the bottom. It is a one-piece instrument, giving good sustain compared to standard Gibson SGs. The body is mahogany. The neck is three-pieced, with an ebony fingerboard, which resists warping and helps to balance out the instrument. As standard, it comes fitted with an EMG 81/85 pickup set. It has a scale length of 24.75". This gives a prime node for artificial harmonics at a little over 6"; so a little past the neck pickup.

The LTD Vipers made by ESP's sister line are cheaper and of different quality when compared to the ESP Viper, being made of less expensive materials, and do not possess the same specifications as the ESP Viper.
