[edit] AfD nomination of Pokémon (subculture)

An editor has nominated Pokémon (subculture), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. [edit] Speedy deletion of Template:CategoryYearTOC2

A tag has been placed on Template:CategoryYearTOC2 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Konyok2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.   • I'm not sure what happened there, but given my contribution history it is a bit of a stretch to call me a vandal. I suggest you assume good faith and maybe read up on personal histories before throwing around insults. It was a mistake - I've changed it to remove only the hoax entries. Yeah, I was wondering what was going on, since you reverted the article to its state before January 5, 2007. How does that happen? Anyway... the templates weren't meant to be insulting to your work as a whole and were meant to object to that particular edit only. I simply didn't (and don't) understand how such a huge change to an article can be done accidentally. Perhaps you're using an editing program that I'm not aware of in which that mistake is easily made?

  • As I said, it was an accident. Another user was pointing me to the edit history of the hoaxmonger (Movingimage (talk · contribs)) to be specific), and I accidentally reverted based on an old revision in that history. JuJube (talk) 18:00, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Achmed1.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

I'm eventually going to shut down my wiki, so I've uploaded all subtitles to http://www.archive.org/details/princess_iron_fan Could you check if your Russian subtitles are working as they should? I don't want to host my own web server anymore, so that's why I'm moving everything away. A nice Czech fellow has offered to host it instead, so maybe I'll take him up on that offer. Understood, thanks. Though it would have been nice if you had mentioned the June 2010 release date in the article for the "Thor" film; I thought you had confused two different films. "Thor (2010 animated film)" should do nicely for the Icelandic one. Esn (talk) 22:40, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Lost World 1925 Still 01.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Lost World 1925 Still 01.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
