Coordinates: Esgairgeiliog (also known as Ceinws) is a village in the valley of the Afon Dulas in western Sir Drefaldwyn/Montgomeryshire, in Powys, Wales. The Afon Glesyrch joins the Dulas in the middle of the village.
The ERA slate quarry lay in the Glesyrch valley, behind the village.
[edit] Railway
Esgairgeiliog was a station on the narrow-gauge Corris Railway, although prospective passengers had to cross the river into Merionethshire to catch the train. A steeply-graded branch line crossed the river and led to the ERA quarry, carrying slate to Machynlleth for transshipment.
The station has recently been structurally and cosmetically restored as the Corris Railway is being reinstated back to Esgairgeiliog.
The Centre for Alternative Technology lies about a mile south of the village.
