[edit] Instructions for usage
This template is for usage on articles about a country in the Eurovision Song Contest of a specific year (for example, Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 or Monaco in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004). To use the template, simply place the following at the top of the article and complete accordingly:
{{ESC National Year | Year = Year | Country = Country | Preselection = Preselection process | Preselection date = Preselection date(s) | Entrant = Entrant | Song = Song | SF result = Semi-final result | Final result = Final result | }}
For example, the following is the code and results for an infobox showing Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005:
{{ESC National Year | Year = 2005 | Country = [[Switzerland]] | Preselection = Internal selection | Preselection date = - | Entrant = [[Vanilla Ninja]] | Song = "Cool Vibes" | SF result = 8th, 114 points | Final result = 8th, 128 points | }}
Eurovision Song Contest 2005 | |
---|---|
Country | Switzerland |
National preselection | |
Preselection process | Internal selection |
Preselection date(s) | - |
Selected entrant | Vanilla Ninja |
Selected song | "Cool Vibes" |
Finals performance | |
Semi-final result | 8th, 114 points |
Final result | 8th, 128 points |
The year field should be the year of the contest, and not the year the artist was preselected in. The country field is self-explanatorily the country in question. The preselection field should be the preselection method used (for example, a public televote or an internal selection). The preselection date should be the date the artist was selected. The entrant and song fields are the artist and song that won in the preselections respectively. The SF result and Final result are again self-explanatory, and should include the country's semi-final and final result that year.
