[edit] Meaning of 'Escrick'

The article claims that the etymology of 'Escrick' may be from 'ice ridge', after a glacial feature. This seems unlikely: did anybody know that terminal moraines were caused by glaciers before the nineteenth century? --Sam Clark 09:52, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Selby is not a city, article has been appended accordingly. Jedimasterdurex 00:41, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
