[edit] Get Smart?
I haven't played the game in a while, but I remember when surveying the monkey head on Monkey Island, he states that it is the second biggest monkey head he's seen. If this is true, then that should be some sort of reference to Get Smart, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by MaximillianRiese (talk • contribs) 03:43, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] die
can you die if you stay under water for more than 10 minites when looking for Pegnose Pete's hideout
- I think you sail on a raft - so no underwater fun. Poulsen 12:17, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- I think he says about the underwater case with the chest. Pictureuploader 13:15, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, I had completely forgotten that. Poulsen 13:22, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

- yer i do meen when looking for chest
-
- Conisdering that it is done in the previous games, I would imagine yes. If you are underwater and do nothing for 10 minutes, you die.Wild ste 19:13, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
No, you can't die. Guybrush just says "uh-oh..." and resurfaces. CaptainAustralia 4:03, 9 March 2008
[edit] Stuck on the Second Island
Can't remember the name of the second island but I have broken out of the bank, been arrested and now need to prove my innocence but don't know how. Tried getting the guy in the artificial limbs shop to smell the hankerchief but he can't cos he has a cold.
Would be gratful for a bit of advice.

[edit] MI5?
This is probably a stupid question but I haven't heard any mention of a fifth Monkey Island game. Is Lucasarts even working on one? What about all that talk about a "five game contract with Lucasarts" in EMI?
- There is much speculation about this, but nothing has been confirmed. Please see this paragraph from the main MI article and its associated links for more information. Kris 07:23, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reference to other games
When I'm at the Giant Monkey Head, there is a Q-Tip that you can spot and Guybrush keeps making the point "Oh Yer". I'm assuming that this is a reference to a previous game so should it be put in (if someone knows what game it is)?Wild ste 16:12, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Useful citations
The New York Times ran an article on EfMI; it seems like a good source of citations: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F02E3DE133CF934A35751C1A9669C8B63 — Alan De Smet | Talk 04:26, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Loose the Kraken
When sailing to Jambalaya Island (on the PS2 version, which is what I've got), Carla says "Loose the Kraken!" in the middle of a bunch of other familiar-sounding movie quotes... but this came out before PotC was released. Are they both referring to some earlier movie quote? Or is the Pirates quote a throwback? But then, the others say movie quotes... Kuronue | Talk 13:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Removed
I removed the let alone another MI game part here [1] since it didn't make sense. Since Monkey Island was the most successful of their adventure game franchies, it seems if they were going to release a new adventure game the most likely may be Monkey Island. While (unfortunately I guess) I doubt they will, the let alone part still doesn't make sense Nil Einne 16:59, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Escape from monkey island mac cover.jpg
Image:Escape from monkey island mac cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
