I saw your question under the "Hip Hop Is Dead" single, asking why Nas or anyone else say Hip Hop Is Dead.
There are many reasons to why they say that, but a main reason why is because many rappers out now are commercialized and don't use a lot of technique. For example, DJ Unk's "Walk It Out" is repetitive and many rap critics would say that it has no flow, or lyrical substance. Yet compare many of today's commercial rappers to ones back in the day, such as Eric B. & Rakim, EPMD, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Nas (specifically Illmatic). So yeah.
