Hungarian born Ervin Schiffer is one of Europe's most sought after violists and pedagogues. Laureate of International Competitions in Geneva and Liège. He is the honorary professor of Viola at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam, Utrechts Conservatorium, Brabants Conservatorium, Royal Conservatory of Brussels and « professor extraordinaire » at the famous Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth. He often takes part in national and international juries. He has had master classes in Wien, Rouen, Reykjavik, Morges, Davos, Luxembourg, Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico, USA, etc. He has performed both as a soloist and chamber music player troughout Europe, USA, Turkey, Israel, Japan till South-Africa; and participated in famous festivals: Holland Festival, Festival of Flanders and Wallonie, Salzburg, Budapest, Brasov, Strasbourg. He has recorded by DGG, VOX, Turnabout, EMS.
