Hi. I'd like to point your attention to this comment. I suggest you use more care when contributing to articles in mathematics, sometimes the words have specialized meaning.
You can reply here if you have comments. Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 01:37, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Conversely
You seem to be going about indiscriminately deleting the word "conversely" wherever you find it.
The term has a technical meaning in logic. In that technical sense, it is heavily relied on in mathematical proofs. You deleted it from a mathematical proof in a case in which it was absolutely essential for comprehensibility. The theorem was of the form "A if and only if B". After the proof of "If A then B", the next sentence said, in essense, "Conversely, if B....", etc. The word "conversely" was the ONLY indication that what followed was not a continuation of the proof of "If A then B". Deletion of the word rendered the proof incomprehensible.
I reverted, and I will revert other mathematical errors that you may carelessly introduce into articles. Please don't do that. Michael Hardy 01:41, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Geomon
No problem - I think I've already fixed the Japanese, so I don't think you need to worry about it. If you want to be extra careful you can preview your changes (click the "show changes" button) before you save an edit: that should show you whether you are about to change more than you expected! By the way, welcome to Wikipedia. --RobertG ♬ talk 11:27, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Icelandic IPA
I have tried to fix the IPA and translations which you have put into some Icelandic articles. Also, note that we usually include this kind of information in the introduction, rather than separating it out. Finally, I removed the photolink you put in the Þjórsá article, it is probably not useful to have a link with only one photo and moreover, I am not convinced that the photo is actually of Þjórsá. Stefán 22:19, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Are you going to leave the translations out? Maybe we should leave the IPA out too, and just link to wiktionary. Erudecorp ? * 23:24, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I'm sure it is quite common to have IPA in the leads of articles and this is often encouraged. But I'm a little bit on the fence about the translations, for me, Eyjafallajökull means simply the glacier (jökull) at Eyjafjöll. I suppose that if somebody pressed me then I would say that Eyjafjöll means "the island mountains" so I would have to accept that Eyjafjallajökull is "the glacier at the island mountains", but such thorough decompositions may not be very meaningful. Case in point, in the West fjords there is Vatnsdalsvatn, which simply means the lake (vatn) in Vatnsdalur. But what does Vatnsdalur mean? well, it is the valley (dalur) with the lake (vatn), whereas the other valleys in the area don't have big lakes in them. But would we really want to say that Vatnsdalsvatn is "the lake in the valley of the lake" or that it is "the lake in Vatnsdalur". I prefer the latter. Stefán 23:56, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Architect (The Matrix)
Your edits have been reverted. Just because the Architect speaks in chains of logic does not mean Wikipedia has to follow the same style. The Clawed One 13:43, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution by uploading the image Talk:Triptych. Your test worked, and the image that you uploaded has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do and please read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. Stop adding that meld of images. It adds absolutely nothing to the article and hogs up a mass amount of resources. VegitaU 18:16, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-Indo-European
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Non-Indo-European, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://web.cn.edu/kwheeler/IE_Non.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 05:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Archiving Jesus
Just letting you know that I undid your page move archiving of Talk:Jesus. The reason why is because since December 8, 2005 (or archive #20) we have been using the copy and paste archiving technique. When you moved the entire talk page to archive 85, you also moved the page histories of archive 20-85. Therefore, if someone wanted to go through the talk page history to find an original diff for an archived text, they'd need to search through the archive 85 page history. I have instead, moved the page back to Talk:Jesus so that users who ever may want to search the history can more easily find their content (if that makes sense. I feel like I'm not thoroughly explaining this,s o ask questions if necessary). That said, two months ago, I explained who we generally archive pages for Talk:Jesus, and you are welcome to give that a read if you want (see Talk:Jesus/Archive 85#Archiving). Thanks.-Andrew c [talk] 15:20, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- It was gigantic and no one archived it. Thanks for fixing it. Erudecorp ? * 18:50, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Nested (disambiguation), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
