Erumely is a place in Kottayam district.
And this is a holy place famous in Sabarimala Pilgrimage. Erumely is the name extract from "erumakolli". History said that Lord Sree Ayyappa Swami is made "mahishi Mardanam in this place and all Hindus who are going for Sabarimala Pilgrimage is visiting this place. There are two temples in this town of Lord Ayyappa and Famous Petta Thullal is there in November,December & January months....
It';s an art of old culture and there is no division of Hindu, Christian or Muslim Communities. The famous " Vavaru Palli is opposite to Sree ayyappa temple and it's simbol of Hindu Muslim unity.
A small river-Koratty- is the entrance of Erumely town and surrounded by lot of rubber trees. Majority of people are farmers, business persons etc.
Erumeli is on the Kanjirappalli - Pathanamthitta Route
Erumley has its own culture and it's different from all other places with simplicity and unity of Hindu, Muslim & Christian Community.There is St. Thomas Church and it's very old and having a famous school also.
